Yolanda Quezada Striking Mata Ortiz Pottery
Yolanda Quezada is the niece of Juan Quezada being the daughter of his sister, Reynalda. Like Reynalda, she makes absolutely beautiful black on black pottery with animals in relief, such as frogs, lizards, and geckos. And like a true artis, now and then she produces original, impressive works of art.
The present olla is one of Yolanda's fine-line creations, dcortated with black and red lines and bands over a tan background. It is a large piece measuring 12 inches tall by 8 1/2 inches wide.
