Polychrome Bowl, Antoinette Honie Hopi Vase
This gorgeous Hopi vessel was hand coiled and painted by talented artist Antoinette Honie. Antoinette uses various series of geometric design work to ÒtileÓ her beautifully shaped pottery. This piece is covered from nearly top to bottom in an array of black and red geometry that reflects the traditions of the Hopi pueblo. Kiva steps, wind, feather, eagle, rain, cloud. water and mountain patterns are among the many beautifully painted designs. The soft polished buff of the background serves as a wonderful canvas to Antoinette's work.
The present bowl measures 3.5 inches tall by 9.5 inches wide
