Double Band Parrot: Marie Juanico Acoma pottery
This is a beautiful, perfectly balanced olla made by master potter Marie S. Juanico. Marie is an acknowledged premier potter from Acoma whose work represents the epitome of craftsmanship. For this reason she is highly valued by collectors. The present work depicts the Acoma Parrot combined with an undulating band decorated with a meander along with floral and other geometric designs. Note the decoration in the body of the bird! And it is signed by Marie.
