Eleanor Pino-Griego - Magnificent Bowl Zia Pottery

Eleanor Pino-Griego is a member of the Coyote Clan at Zia Pueblo. She was born on April 7, 1953, and was taught the art of working the clay by her grandmother, Ascension Galvan Pino. She is the sister of the famous Zia potter, Ruby Panana. Eleanor concntrats on traditional polychrome jars, boesl and vases.

The bowl with handles shown here was hand coiled and hand decorated by Eleanor and measures 11 3/4 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches tall. It It is decorated inside and out with renditions of the Zia bird along with floral and geometric designs. The handles add a delicate and rare touch.
