Sammy Naranjo Black Santa Clara Pottery
Sammy Naranjo was taught the art of creating wonderful works out of clay by his mother, Flora Naranjo and has been busy at that since about 1987. His activity focuses on carved and sgraffito two-tone black-ware and red-ware jars and bowls. His work has been distinguished with ribbons in juried competion throughout the Southwest.
The pot measures 4 1/4 inches high by 5 1/2 inches in diameter, and is signed by Sammy. It is decorated with elaborately detailed avanyu, geometrics and water waves.
