INDIVIDUAL SANTA CLARA POTTERY
-
Dusty Naranjo Hummingbirds Santa Clara Pottery
Dusty Naranjo was not raised in a traditional pueblo environment. Her father was Tito Naranjo, a university professor, and Dusty did not even pursue pottery until a little later in life. She first graduated with a BA in psychology from NM Highlands University and recently obtained her Master's Degree in Art Therapy. Her upbringing, however, may account for Dusty's contemporary pottery designs. Once she got into pottery making Dusty proved herself a great master. Using only traditional techniques, Dusty is now a well-known potter having progressed far in a short period of time.
This vase measures 5 inches in height and 5 inches in diameter and is in mint condition. It is decorated with hummingbirds against a background incised with meticulously executed fine lines.
